This BACP Approved Practitioner Qualification (APQ) two-year part-time qualification gives candidates the knowledge, skills and competencies to work as a therapeutic counsellor in an agency context in both health care and non-medical settings.

The course is designed on the basis of Pluralistic Theory underpinned by Person-Centred Approach

The ethos of the course draws on principles and concepts from other theoretical orientations whilst at the same time building an effective therapeutic alliance in a client-centred/non-directive way of being.

Successful completion of this course means that the candidates will be able to provide a therapeutic counselling service

For courses at Centre Locations a blended approach applies which includes approx. twenty five percent of the total course online teaching/webinars and complimented by a virtual learning environment throughout the course.

This CPCAB professional and Accredited Qualification is designed and delivered to provide candidates the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles. Progression will lead to the CPCAB Level 3 (CST-L3) Counselling Qualification. A balance of counselling theory, inclusive of Rogers (1957) Core Conditions, Egan's (2017) Skilled Helper will aid developmental progress underpinned by ethical considerations in counselling practice. On successful completion, you will be offered progression for entry on to the Certificate in Counselling Studies (CST-L3).
